Black Dicks’ Tower is situated near Lepton Huddersfield and is a grade 1 listed building.

Black Dick’s Tower was built in the 1750s and was attached to the vast Whitely Beaumont Estate, which was owned by Richard Beaumont who was known as Black Dick.
It is though that the tower was the former Ice House and food storage area and was also used as a picnic area for the Beaumont family whilst out on hunts etc from Whitely Hall.
It is said the tower has links with witchcraft….

Whilst we were there we observed the site of the tower and soon noticed the tower lay in direct line to the rise of the moon and is said to lay on a lay line.
We arrived at the tower in semi darkness and had a good look around and explored the area, we took a few photos of the tower.

We set up the spirit box and yielded some results. The place was extremely eerie and we constantly had a feeling we were being watched from the wooded area behind us.
We used our Ghost box apps and yielded some relevant info to what we felt and saw around us. Anthony was drawn to the wooded area and went to explore there for a few minutes which left Kerrie and myself in the clearing. We were drawn to the banking and went to find out why and stood there overlooking the valley towards Mirfield and Dewsbury.
The darkness seemed to draw in even more and a very oppressive feeling seemed to surround us. We felt that what ever presence that was in the tower was stuck there and the wooded area had a another presence which was trapped there… We were stuck in the middle in no ones land…….
At this stage we started to observe the moonrise and soon noticed the redness of the moon .

The feeling of oppressiveness seemed to intensify and given the history of witchcraft we decided not to hang around and it was time to leave Black Dick’s Tower to its secrets……
Once out of the clearing and on route home we observed the moon back actually in its normal state……..
